In 1996, Matt Weinberg began his sales history as a sales representative at Almist Sales. He quickly got his feet wet by driving to each account, meeting the owners of specialty stores, from pool stores and surf shops to toy stores, spanning from Cape Cod, MA to Ocean City, MD. Creating and maintaining great relationships is something that he is most proud of, and Matt's hard work at Almist Sales truly paid off.
In 1993, Jason Kovler started working at Toys... the Store in Princeton, NJ. Immediately, he was hooked on the toy business. After five years in retail, Jason transitioned to become a sales representative. In 1999, when Almist Sales needed a new sales rep, Matt instantly thought of Jason. He began at Almist as a specialty toy store and pool store representative covering six states, eventually progressing to manage online accounts.
In 2013, they took a significant step by forming Matson Sales Group, where Matt Weinberg and Jason Kovler joined forces to create a dynamic team. Matson Sales Group represents companies that produce fun, creative, and innovative products. Together, Matt and Jason have built a collaborative force of experienced and dedicated professionals who work together to provide tailored solutions and deliver exceptional results.
Both Matt and Jason pride themselves on learning from the "great ones" in the business, as these influential figures have helped shape their careers. They are extremely grateful for the guidance they have received. From handwriting orders and using paper maps of yesterday to embracing smartphones and GPS technology today, Matson Sales Group is excited to see what the future holds!
Matson Sales Group got its name by blending the first names of its' founders. Matt and Jason...Matson! It is paying homage to the company they began their careers at, Almist Sales. Al, Mike and Stan were fantastic business leaders and teachers.
